About Planet Clean Up
Welcome to Planet Clean Up, my personal mission to make a positive impact on the environment by doing something simple but effective—picking up litter. I’m Peter Atherton, and this initiative is all about leading by example, sharing tips, and raising awareness about how littering affects nature and wildlife. I believe small actions can make a big difference, and I want to inspire others to take part in keeping our planet clean.
My Mission
With Planet Clean Up, I’m focused on:
- Cleaning up litter: I spend time picking up trash from public spaces like parks, beaches, and streets, helping keep these areas clean and safe for wildlife.

What I Do
1. Litter Picking: I’m out there regularly, picking up trash in my local area and beyond. It’s simple but effective, and I share my progress online to show how easy it can be for anyone to get involved.
2. Sharing Tips and Insights: I use social media and blog posts to share what I’ve learned about the impact of litter on our environment and wildlife. From the dangers it poses to animals to how it contributes to pollution, I aim to raise awareness and offer practical advice on how to minimize waste.
3. Inspiring Others: While Planet Clean Up is just me, I hope to inspire others to get involved in their own communities. I believe that even if just a few people start picking up litter, it can lead to a much bigger movement toward cleaner spaces and healthier ecosystems.
Why It Matters
Protecting Wildlife: Litter is a serious threat to animals, who can mistake it for food or become trapped in it. By picking up trash, we can help prevent needless harm to birds, mammals, and marine life.
Preserving the Environment: Litter doesn’t just look bad—it causes real damage to ecosystems. It pollutes soil and water, disrupts natural habitats, and contributes to the growing problem of environmental degradation.
